TopBlacks is an online service
that profiles and features Positive People of Color each weekday. Lead stories are written
by our staff -- professional journalists all -- and contract writers who include some of
the top writers and reporters in the country.
Our service also includes news features about
some of the most influential people in the world. The profiles we provide are constantly
updated. They provide the background information personalities and educational data useful
for giving texture and context to the profile.
TopBlacks was created to strengthen, enrich,
entertain and empower all people by being a repository of positive information about
People of Color.
TopBlacks is considered a credible, useful
resource by educational institutions, marketnews organizations and other market makers.
WRITER:
(Part-time) wanted to write short profiles on Positive People of Color. Pay is in the form
of cash and stock options. Engaging, sophisticated and fun writing style required.
Reporting accuracy a must. TopBlacks is seeking writers with demonstrated expertise in
writing. The writer will be responsible for writing in a style attractive to general
public. The writer will cover performances, interviews and profiles, features and trend
pieces, and news as the writer is experienced and assigned.

Write us a
Letter. Your feedback helps us take your
opinions and preferences into account as we create each issue. Please send Letters to the
Editor on any topic related to articles or news you've seen on our website. We may print
your letter and answer it online.
Write an "Express Yourself" Opinion Piece. We invite you to submit an 650 to 800
word piece in which you share your ideas, opinions, proposals, critiques, visions, and
dreams about any TopBlack featured.
Write an Article
or Poem. We invite you to submit an article,
poem, or interview about your favorite TopBlack. We're interested in articles for future
use as well as articles on aspects of life.
Become a
Guest Editor. If you have always been
fascinated with a particular TopBlack, or have wanted to profile certain people that
you've admired, or have longed to provide readers with valuable information, you might
want to become a Guest Editor. Guest Editors (who are usually not professional editors)
dream up good ideas about an issue theme (or work with a theme we provide), contact likely
guest authors, encourage and "manage" those authors as they submit articles,
select the articles to be used, and edit the articles. Guest Editors can, if they wish,
receive abundant help and support from our Editor and the publisher's Editorial Review
Board. We can help Guest Editors shape the scope of the issue theme, come up with a list
of likely guest authors, and do the actual editing, as well as every other aspect of the
process. One Guest Editor called it "Guest Editing " because the process was so
rewarding and he learned so much. It's a volunteer job. Guest Editors are paid in (1) fame
and glory, (2) our undying gratitude. Our Guest Editors will include people from many age
groups and all walks of life; some living in urban areas, other in rural areas, and many
