Inspire Me!
By Pam Best
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the
vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is
yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie: though it tarry,
wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:2,3 KJV
One of the most effective weapons in the
Christian arsenal is patience. Satan attempts to discourage in the time frame between the
speaking of God's promises and them coming into fruition. If we can just hold on, in due
season, we shall reap.
My Interpretation:
I had to use both versions of this scripture.
I am a King James lover. I am a poet and I like the way the old english speaks. But I
admit that it's not the clearest version of the Bible (and isn't that the point? Sidenote:
Truth is truth..get a version that you can understand) Habakkuk is one those often
overlooked chapters, but it reveals the true nature of faith and patience. God says to
write down the vision that He has given to you, not just in your heart, but on tablets or
paper. Make the vision concrete. You need to see it. It will fade in the mind during times
of adversity, but paper always remembers. Make the vision plain on paper and in the life
that you live. Walk and talk like you have a vision so that those who see you know that
there is a mission in your life. When people see vision in you, they will run and spread
the word. And although the vision doesn't come into being immediately, don't give up on
the vision. God gave you your dream and your goal for an appointed time. When God shows
you what you will be in Him, there follows a time of preparation. This preparation is not
just for you, but for those who you directly affect. When the totality of circumstances
are right, then God will do what He does best. You can't hurry God. He works in His own
time and it's always the right time. Rest assured that in the end, every promise of God is
yea and amen. The vision shall speak and not lie. It will come and not delay. The root of
every vision is patience. Patience is Hope. Hope is Faith. Therefore, the root is faith.
It comes down to a question of whether we believe that God is who He says He is and does
what He says He does. "For we are saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope:
For what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then
do we with patience wait for it." Romans 8: 24,25. Let us exercise patience. It is
the road from promise to praise. If God has given you a vision or dream; if God has
promised you something, don't let go regardless of what it looks like. Believe that He is
a rewarder of them that seek Him. Don't let others discourage you. There will always be
those well meaning folk on the sideline saying "You are crazy, you'll never get that
house/ you'll never get that job/ you'll never get that relationship/ you'll never get
that degree/ you'll never get that record deal... Don't you move. Stand still and know
that I AM is God. If God showed you the vision, keep moving towards it. It shall speak and
not lie.
