Inspire Me!
By Pam Best
So do not throw away your confidence; it will
be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35
Faith is truly the evidence of what we hope for.
If we keep the faith, we are promised that it shall be rewarded.
My Interpretation:
When I tell you it's hard to keep the faith...believe me. When I tell you that there is
some vast black hole somewhere in the universe with all of our thrown away
confidence...know that I am right. Close your eyes and think of all of the many things in
your lifetime that you have given up on. Think of all of the dreams that you "left
along the way"; dreams and accomplishments that you KNOW were things that God
promised you. I don't have enough time to review all of my contributions to the black
hole, but I know they are plentiful. Confidence is belief. It is the truest form of Faith.
God gives us promises and visions and He who begins a good work in you is faithful to
perform it. God is not some sadistic tease that dangles dreams, like carrots, in front of
us to drive us crazy. ( If that were the case, then Lucifer was right the whole time and
we have him all misunderstood). God will reward our faith in Him. I must admit that I have
to constantly remind myself of that. Sometimes I get so discouraged...so beat up by
setbacks, that I throw up my hands and throw my dreams to the wind. I allow time and space
to define the eternal. Let me interpret that. I accept the perfect will of God in my life.
I place it with all of its infinite and holy possibilities in my box of timetables and
schedules and presumption and methodology and logic and basic HUMAN ways of thinking. I
stir in my fear and doubt and pessimism, bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes and then fall
into deep despair and depression when my "dream cake" comes out as "dust
soup". My timelines mean nothing to God. He has a perfect time in which to fulfill
all of His promises. When it is time to experience the fullness of the dreams that He put
in me, It will come to pass. I changed directions so many times; cried so many
disappointed tears; pleaded through so many sleepless nights because I have a dream
deferred. (and I know I am not alone). But we need to recognize the difference in a dream
deferred and a dream defeated. Deferred me!
ans detained, but still coming. You can defer your student loans, but believe you
me....you still owe the money and you are still gonna pay, but you have been allowed time
to prepare to make the committment of paying it back. By the same token, sometimes our
dreams are deferred because God is allowing us time to prepare for the mission within our
dreams. When God blesses us, He wants us to be ready to accept the responsibility of those
blessings. There is no defeat in Christ. "We are troubled on every side, yet not
distressed; Perplexed but not in despair. Persecuted but not forsaken; cast down but not
destroyed." Don't give up. Don't give in. Bring the dreams that God has given you to
His remembrance and like Jacob, refuse to let go until God blesses you. Write the vision
that God has given you. Make it plain upon tables. I like to think of those tables as my
life and my countenance. Make it plain by the way you live and act that you have a vision
from God so that those that see you will know and understand it. When time is right, it
will come to pass. It will speak and not lie. These are not my words, but the words of God
and He is not a man that He should lie. Hold fast to your dreams. They will come to pass.
