Dr.
Oswald P. Bronson, Sr. is a native Floridian, a graduate of Bethune-Cookman
College, B.S.; Gammon Theological Seminary, B.D.; and Northwestern University, Ph.D. He
served as pastor in the Florida, Georgia and Rock River, Chicago Conferences of the United
Methodist Church for 16 years. Dr. Bronson is the former president of
Interdenominational Theological Seminary. He lectured and taught in numerous
mission schools, clinics, pastoral institutes and leadership training seminars. He
is the immediate past president of the UMC Council of Presidents, Chairman of NAFEO
Board of Directors, UNCF member of institution Presidents, UNCF member of institutions
Executive Committee, and past Vice-Chairman of UNCF Executive Committee, Board of
Directors. Dr. Bronson is presently on the
Board of Directors of: National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, CAELP, FACU,
M.L. King, Jr. Center for Social Change, Volusia County Business Development Corporation,
Volusia-Flager Counties March of Dimes Foundation, Work Oriented Rehabilitation Center
Incorporated, Fund for Theological Education, International Society of Theta Phi, Wesley
Community Center, and the American Red Cross. He is the recipient of numerous honors
for outstanding service including honorary Doctor of Divinity degree, St. Paul's College,
Lawrenceville, Va.; Doctor of Laws, Stetson University, Deland, Florida and keys to
various cities in the State of Florida.
